Baby passport photo FAQ

Is a baby passport photo a different size from an adult one?
No. A baby passport photo uses the same size as an adult photo for that country: 2 x 2 inches for a US passport, 35 x 45 mm for the UK, Schengen, India and Australia, and 50 x 70 mm for Canada.
Does my baby need their eyes open?
For a UK passport, children under 1 do not need to have their eyes open. Other countries can be stricter, so check the rules of the issuing authority and take the photo when your baby is awake and calm.
Can I hold my baby in the photo?
Your baby can be supported, but no hands, arms or other people can be visible in the finished photo. Laying your baby on a plain white sheet, or covering a car seat with one, is the easiest way to do this.
Can my baby have a dummy or toy in the photo?
No. Dummies, pacifiers, toys and bottles must be out of the photo, and nothing should cover the face.
Is the baby passport photo maker free?
Yes. You can make the photo for free with no account and no watermark on the download.
